WHAT’S IN THE BOX
- Download the Starlink App: Scan the QR code

- Plan Your Mounting Location
- The factory Starlink cable is 25m (82’) in length. Longer cable options are not available. Considering use of a service loop at the Starlink, ensure that the planned cable route and PSU mounting location is within this distance.
- Open the App and follow the prompts to allow App to use your phone’s location and Camera. In the App, use the “Check for Obstructions” tool to find an install location with minimal obstructions that will deliver the best service. For best results, Starlink should be install on a flat surface. If you are unable to download the App, find a location outdoor that is flat and has minimal obstructions to view the sky:

- Fixed Pole / Pipe Mounts: Your purchase may include the optional Flat High Performance pipe adapter for securing the Starlink atop pipes up to 2.5” in diameter. Simetry stocks the following two commercial building mount kits that are available for purchase:

- Radio Interference: Starlink transmits and receives signals in the Ku-band spectrum. At a minimum, Starlink should be installed 1 meter away from other RF-emitting antennas. Prior to final installation, we recommend turning on the Starlink while using any other radio devices that will be nearby to ensure all devices continue to operate as designed. Install your Starlink at a reasonable distance from these devices if interference occurs.
- Secure Pipe Mount to Starlink Wedge Mount
- Remove the pipe mount and grey wedge mount from their boxes. Set the pipe mount inside the center of the wedge mount and secure the two pieces together with the included allen bolts as shown in the image. Set the assembly aside.

- Install Shoulder Bolts
- Place your Starlink face-down on a clean surface free of debris. Gather the included Loctite and allen head shoulder bolts. Wet shoulder bolt threads with the thread locker and install into threaded holes near the antenna cable port. Use an 1/8” hex key to tighten the bolts 90%.

- Lock Starlink onto Wedge Mount
- Turn the wedge mount assembly upside down and align the antenna shoulder bolts into the keyway on the bottom of the wedge mount assembly. Push down and slide Starlink forward to lock into place.

- Secure Starlink to Wedge Mount
- Wet threads of the 12.7 mm (0.5 in) socket head bolts with thread locker and install into the two remaining holes to secure Starlink. Use the 3/16 in hex key to tighten screws to snug plus 1/4 turn. Do not overtighten. Ensure you are using the 12.7 mm (0.5 in) length bolts. Longer bolts can damage Starlink. Set the assembly to the side.

- Assemble & Position Non-Penetrating Mount
- Most commercial building IT rooms have a dedicated HVAC system. Installers should position the Starlink and mount near the IT room HVAC system and route the Starlink cable into the building along the same path of the HVAC lines.
- Assemble the non-penetrating mount per instructions in Appendix A. If the roof is not level, adjust the mount position of the center support arms and check with a level to ensure that the mast is vertical.

- Lay out the included NPRMAT8 protective rubber mat on the roof and position the mount on top of it. The mat prevents damage to roof membranes over time.
- Place at least four (4) standard cinder blocks inside the mount rails to weigh down the assembly. For regions that are prone to high winds, use eight (8) cinder blocks.

- Assemble & Position Under-Eave Wall Mount
- Assemble the under-eave long wall mount per instructions in Appendix B.
- Secure Starlink to Pole
- Before mounting the Starlink, check both sides of your pole mast with a bubble level to ensure that it is vertically straight. Adjust if necessary.
- Slide the pipe adapter atop the pole and tighten the set screws using the allen wrench included in the pipe adapter kit. To prevent damage, make sure to leave space between back of the Starlink and top of the pole.
- Before final tightening, rotate the Starlink so the cable connection is facing north at sites in northern hemisphere and south at sites in southern hemisphere.

- Install Starlink Cable
- The Flat High-Performance factory 25m Starlink cable is proprietary. The smaller end connects at the PSU inside the facility and the larger end connects at the Starlink.
When planning the cable route, leave enough slack at the Starlink to secure the cable to the mount and provide for a service loop beneath the Starlink. - Included in the Starlink purchase are qty two (2) 1” OD rubber cable grommets and a tube of silicone. These should be used to ensure the cable is not chaffed and the building penetration is watertight upon install.
- Drill new penetration using a 1” spade, masonry, or step bit.
- Break open the cable grommet and slip it over the cable.
- Insert the grommet into the new hole and seal it up with silicone.

- Never drill through the membrane of a commercial roof, as doing so may void any existing warranties. Locate the IT room HVAC system on the building roof and identify an existing j-pipe or cabling window for the HVAC lines. Route the 25m Starlink cable into the building. Use the included silicone to seal up any openings that result from the cable install.
- If a new penetration must be made in a vertical wall or duct box, drill a 1” ID hole using a spade or masonry bit and use the included silicone cable grommet per 8.b. above.
- Plug the Starlink cable into the port on the bottom of the Starlink. Ensure the cable is fully plugged in and push the latch into locking position until you hear or feel a click. Use cable ties to secure the cable to the mast and ensure a service loop is made as shown in the image.

- Power Supply Unit Install
- Starlink Flat High Performance includes a proprietary 5-meter (15ft) ethernet cable for connection to third-party routers. If a longer proprietary cable is required, Simetry stocks the 30-meter ethernet cable. Contact your Simetry sales representative for purchase.
- In IT rooms, a rack shelf or the demarcation backboard is an ideal mounting location.
- Remove the power supply from its mount and select a mount location no more than 1.8 m (6ft) away from a 110vAC power source. Checking for straightness, mark the location of the two holes on your Power Supply Mount using a pen or pencil.

- Plywood Backboard
- Holding the mount in place, screw the included mount screws into the backboard until securely attached.
- Sheetrock Wall
- Drill pilot holes with a 8mm (5/16 in) drill bit. Insert the included wall anchors until they are flush. Place the wall mount over the anchors and screw the mount into the wall until securely attached.

- Plug in Power Supply Unit and Activation
- Plug the Starlink, AC and Ethernet cables into the power supply. Slide the power supply into the mount, making sure the top clip snaps into place.
- Finish installation by routing the Ethernet cable to your router install location, connect to router and plug in router and power supply into your power source.
- Upon power up, Starlink Flat High-Performance takes 4 to 7 minutes to calculate orientation and enter the network. During the first 12 hours of service, Starlink will optimize performance. If any software updates are available, Starlink will download and apply them via an automatic reboot the next day between 2 to 4 AM local time. This reboot will interrupt service for 4 to 7 minutes.
- If a Starlink router is present, step through the Starlink install process using the Starlink App.
- If a compatible third-party router is present, follow the router’s set up instructions to configure the WAN port.
- The flat high-performance kit does not come with a router or a HTML web interface. If a Starlink router is not present, connect the ethernet cable to a laptop and perform speed tests. If speed tests are successful, the Starlink is now active and ready for connection to a third-party router.
